MANICURING/PEDICURIST
Manicuring is the artful care of the hands and nails. Pedicure is the care of the feet and toenails. The Manicurist/Pedicurist program is devoted to acquiring the knowledge needed to impart the artful care of hands, feet, nails and toenails.
Textbooks include:
The Art and Science of Manicuring Textbook and Workbook, State Board Exam Review Book, New Mexico Board Rules and Regulations
The program includes lecture, demonstration and “hands on” instruction. All three types of instructional input (visual, oral and physical) are used throughout the program. The students are continually encouraged to prepare the physical skills they are instructed in, and to apply the theoretical knowledge they learn to solve problems by the clients in the College Clinic.
Students receive theory and practical instructions in the following subjects of the course:
